Digital Painting and the Creation of Multimedia Prints
with artist Steve Stanczyk

Explore the different stages of creating a multimedia print from the beginning steps of sketching, painting and/or photography. Learn how to scan photos, artwork and objects and then manipulate them in Photoshop, creating unique compositions that can be printed out on canvas or paper. Once the compositions are printed, learn about the variety of mediums and varnishes available to create unique textures and glazes on the prints for visual enhancement. Examples of both current and past mixed media and digital artists work will be shown via PowerPoint, giving an historical and contemporary framework for the course, revealing the broad influence of digital art and the transformation of art-making practices and creative culture as a result of the digital revolution. www.stevestanczyk.com

Learn to better care for your family heirlooms and photos.  Fall Living History programs will focus on basic care, conservation and documentation techniques to help preserve your valued objects and photos as well as how to collect and record the history connected to them. Photography - SLR Camera Workshop
with Revival Arts Studio

This workshop is for people with an SLR camera (digital or film) who want to learn how to use the different settings and modes it has. Learn about focus, aperture, shutter speed, iso, shooting modes and metering. Class size is limited so Jason and Darcie Brown can provide hands on help to each participant. Please bring your camera and instruction manual to class.

How to Take Better Photographs
with Revival Arts Studio

Designed to strengthen the creative and artistic side of your photography, this workshop is for the novice photographer (with any type of camera - point and shoot or SLR), who wants to learn some basic techniques to improve his or her photography. Jason and Darcie Brown of Revival Arts Studio (www.rastudio.ca) demonstrate how composition and light are used to create eye catching photographs, showing many recent examples from their portfolio as inspiration.

The Womanly Art of Bellydance
with performance artist Kat Wahamaa

Engage mind, body and spirit in creative self-expression, kindle the spark of self-actualization and have fun! The class also incorporates elements of yoga and visualization.
