The Reach Gallery Museum is seeking motivated candidates who have an interest in serving as a director on the Reach Board. Directors serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms under the current version of the bylaws.
The Reach Board meets five to seven times per year. Directors are encouraged to serve on any one of the current committees – Human Resources, Governance, Finance, Development and Anti-Racism. The board is currently looking for candidates who have experience in financial management, human resources and fundraising but applications are welcome from all candidates of all backgrounds.
The Reach strives to create a Board as diverse as our community and encourages applications from candidates who are BIPOC, LGBTQ2, persons who are differently-abled, and new Canadians.

Perks of Volunteering at The Reach
The minimum age for volunteering at The Reach is 18.
All volunteers with The Reach are required to undergo a police security check.
Are you passionate about art, culture, and heritage? Do you love sharing your knowledge with others? Do you enjoy chatting with new people? If you answered yes to these questions then you sound like a Gallery Attendant! This important volunteer position ensures that our visitors have a great experience and our exhibitions are safe.
Tasks Include:
Scheduling: Gallery attendant shifts occur weekly Tuesday-Sunday and are 2-3 hours in length.
Do you enjoy cutting, gluing, painting, and working with students? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! We host bi-weekly Sunday Family Art programs, as well as art camps during Pro-D Days, Spring Break, and Summer Break.
Tasks Include:
Scheduling: Art programs take place morning, afternoon, and evening throughout the week.
Do you enjoy variety? Are you friendly and outgoing? The Reach hosts a number of special events throughout the year, and we’re always looking for volunteers to assist with everything from opening receptions and cultural celebrations, to rentals and fundraising soirées.
Tasks Include:
Scheduling: Special events are generally held on evenings and weekends.
Comfortable with a tape measure and hammer? Looking for experience working with exhibitions? We are looking for skilled volunteers to assist with our exhibition changeovers throughout the year! Experience with tools an asset but not required, though careful conduct and attention to detail are a must. Volunteers will be trained and mentored in exhibition installation techniques and art handling by Kate Bradford, our Assistant Curator.
Tasks include:
Scheduling: Exhibition Installation Assistants are able to commit to a set schedule of work (usually a number of consecutive days) up to three times per year. Scheduling usually occurs Monday to Friday, but occasional weekends may be required. Shifts are half a day in duration, minimum.

Are you eager to share your enthusiasm about The Reach with others? Do you enjoy meeting the public? Do you have an hour to spare once per week? We are looking for friendly people to assist with visitor experience and customer service during lunch breaks.
Tasks Include:
Scheduling: These weekly volunteer shifts occur Tuesday-Friday over the lunch hour. Volunteers with customer service experience and computer skills are considered an asset.
