Cody Lecoy is an emerging artist of Sylix and Lekwungen ancestry whose unique perspective combines Northwest Coast formline design with the vivid, illusory qualities of Surrealism. Cognitive Dissonance, a new series of work in which Lecoy explores his family lineage to decipher his own past. Elements from colonial heraldry, specifically the Canadian Coat of Arms, are reinterpreted by the artist in an investigation of national and personal identity.
