About Sidi Chen
Currently residing in Vancouver, Sidi Chen is a practicing artist, an independent arts administrator, and a community worker interested in utilizing the arts as a force for social development. Chen has participated in a wide range of residencies, exhibitions, performances, and projects across Canada, including exhibiting at The Reach in the Fraser Valley Biennial and programming and delivering The Reach’s Sunday Family Arts program.

Drawing is a unique way of expressing your experience of the world, and speed drawing is a fundamental part of nurturing artistic skills and minds. Whether you are new to drawing or want to hone your skills, this class will teach artists of all ages a range of ways to use everyday materials to build skill and creative confidence through drawing.
One hour Zoom meetings will take place on Mondays and Thursdays for four weeks (8 classes total). Mondays will focus on learning and practicing techniques. Thursdays will focus on sharing and feedback. One-on-one instructor feedback is also available.
Instructional portions of each class will be recorded, so don’t stress if you miss one!
Materials for Expressive Speed Drawing for Beginner and Intermediate Learners
Packages of materials are available for purchase at The Reach for $10, upon request until October 12. However, this course will use everyday materials from around your house or that can be easily purchased from a variety of arts suppliers.
