Looking for a bit of the good life this fall? On Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:30pm The Reach Gallery Museum will host La Dolce Vita, an Opera Recital with Hawaiian-Canadian tenor Dhanya Dasa. The ticketed fundraising concert is part of The Reach’s ongoing 10th anniversary celebration and will feature favorite arias from opera and musical theater by such great composers as Puccini, Verdi, and Wagner.
Dhanya Dasa, who grew up in Mission, is quickly establishing himself as one of Canada’s most exciting young tenors. A student of the legendary late soprano Montserrat Caballé, since 2008 Dasa has delighted audiences across the country, including performances for six Canadian Prime Ministers, HRH Queen Elizabeth II, HIH Emperor Akihito of Japan, and The Prince of Wales. He has performed with the Vancouver Bach Choir, the Canadian Opera Company, Seattle Opera, Vancouver Opera, Burnaby Lyric Opera, Manitoba Opera, Opera Lyra Ottawa, the UBC Opera Ensemble, and Opera Fort Collins. In 2016 Dasa made his European debut in an open air concert at Barcelona’s Placa Reial before an audience of over 10, 000, followed by performances across Italy in regional theatres in Parma, Venice, Milan, Treviso, and Florence.
This is a celebration of young creative talent in our region, and funds raised at this special musical event will support The Reach’s Emerge program, which provides professional development opportunities to emerging artists and arts professionals between the ages of 18-35 in the Fraser Valley.
Tickets to the La Dolce Vita Opera Recital with Dhanya Dasa on November 3rd – 1:30pm at The Reach are limited and must be purchased in advance: $20 Reach Friend; $24 Future Friend, including concert and refreshments.
